Unlocking My Potential: Why Every Woman in Sales Needs Sales Squad
Tell us about your sales career.
I started off at a tech company out of college, on a completely male dominated team. While I learned a lot and enjoyed my experience, one thing was always missing from each role; the lack of women leadership/mentors. I knew that I wanted to stay in sales, but had very little training or mentors that I could leverage for guidance or support.
What motivated you to participate in Sales Squad?
Lizzy was a colleague of mine and quickly became someone I turned to for advice. Her professional experience was what I was looking to achieve. She walked the walk, and was more than willing to share her experiences, lessons learned, and situational guidance.
What specific skills or knowledge did you gain from your involvement with the foundation?
Sales Squad truly provides a foundation for women of all stages in their sales journey. It isn't a one size fits all; and that's what I value the most. Whether you're looking to fix your resume, prepare for a panel interview, or learn how to structure a 3-year deal based on your comp plan, Sales Squad is there to help. With no bias, just expertise.
I believe that despite your age or what your resume says, we should always be looking for ways to grow, learn, and connect with others; especially with women in the industry. Sales Squad provided that for me, and I am incredibly grateful. I can't wait to see how I grow in my career as I continue to work with the program.
How would you describe the overall impact of the foundation on women in sales?
This program is truly an opportunity for you to invest in yourself. Unfortunately, corporations don't offer this kind of hands-on support. If you want to feel more empowered, educated, and confident, all while creating a strong network, then Sales Squad will be the best decision you could make.
