The HSA Fire Sale!
Did you know all of these items are eligible to use with your HSA funds?!
Skin Care
The holy grail of all skincare is sunscreen. Seriously, with all of the buzz around skin care- if you are not using an SPF daily then don’t even bother with any of the anti-aging treatments. To start, I would recommend and SPF such as the tried and true Supergoop and it you are an international traveler, you want to carry a stick-like formula in your carry-on, so I carry this…. Not so fun fact: did you know that flying for an hour is the equivalent sun exposure as staying in a tanning bed for 20 minutes?! Pack the sunscreen!
There are also so many HSA hacks to get your make-up covered by SPF. You can get high quality foundations and tints sold in spas such as ColorScience. You can also get your blush and lip tints covered by HSA! Also, don’t forget your hair and scalp protection (yes, your scalp and hair can get sun damage…. do you have dry/frizzy hair?!)
Mighty Patch are a must whenever I am going through a breakout…. there is something so satisfying about seeing all of the gunk it sucks out of your face. I have tried several different brands and there are the favorite!
Another skincare saver I love are LED light masks. There are lightmasks that are $400+ that you can get, but honestly I love this one because not only does it offer red light for anti-aging, but it has multiple settings to tackle different ailments (blue for breakouts to kill bacteria, green to balance skin tone, etc and then price point on this is much more reasonable than other brands. Just make sure to wipe the mask down between use with alcohol wipes to disinfect and not cause breakouts!
Lastly, to reduce puffiness and help with lymphatic drainage, you can use your HSA funds to get an ice roller for your face- plus, it feels amazing!!
Health Tech: Scales, Massagers & More!
There is something about the end of the year where massagers for your hands, head and feet back sense…. especially with heat!
When my hands were killing me last year (was it too much typing or too much wrapping gifts) I thought I had arthritis, I bought this hand massager and it was like getting the instant relief from a manicurist.
I also keep this foot massager nearby- it provides the perfect pressure and doesn’t feel like it will electrocute you like other foot massagers! And if you suffer from migraines, give this eye mask massager a shot. If you are an athlete that suffers from tight muscles, a massage gun with multiple tips is a great investment to address various pressure points.
You can also implement a spa-like setting at home with aromatherapy diffusers- get essential oils to help you relax or fall asleep easily. Other amazing tech finds are Oura rings and Apple Watches (Disclaimer: you will need a note from a doctor to make it HSA compliant).
Lastly…. with New Year resolutions will be here before you know it, check out a smart scale. It is keep you accountable AND humble if you are anything like me!
